Original Ideas

Other fun ideas we had were using chalk paints and chucking them around in the studio and getting messy.  This would of been such a fun idea to do and representing creativity and fun this would of been good.  However we never pursued this.  We also had ideas of having I am Creative painted over our bodies/ faces however due to the short project time span this was not possible.

We had other ideas by using Jessica Walsh's work as inspiration.  She has numerous work where she uses these same ideas to incorporate their new projects.

Here was some original inspiration for our o

Film Production/ Story boarding

We booked out the studios so we could film our idea of holding up the cards and say why we think we are creative.  Each of our group had a slot of doing this and so did a select few of our group.  We abandoned the idea of using the public because we thought it was kind of obvious just to use ourselves.

Below here is our post it idea inspired by the Deadline video in a previous post.  We found an empty room to film in.

Below here is a rough storyboard plan of how we will film the post it notes being taken away to reveal the letters.

Video Inspiration

Developing our idea, we wanted something alongside our idea of asking people why they feel they are creative.  We had the idea of using our group members too for our idea.  Anyways alongside that we came up with the idea after seeing this stop motion video.  This video is incredible and must of taken weeks to film.  It involves post it notes being moved around then captured by a camera and then played back at a rate to create an amazing effect.  We wanted to re-create our own taking away coloured notes to spell out 'I am'.

Planning, Branding

Given our job roles I am designing the logo for I am Creative.  As a group we wanted something that stand out and that will look unique against other design proposals.  Looking at fonts, we knew we wanted big and bold.

The first font listed here is called Franchise and the second Cubano.  As you can see both fonts share similar qualities such as colour and the letter spacing.  We decided as a group which fonts would fit best.  I suggested I could manipulate these to my own font but we decided that this wasn't needed.

Colours I wanted to use were mainly primary colours.  I have used Blue, Light blue, Red, Green, Purple, Yellow and brown.  The idea of paint splatters was more of a hands on idea as I loved how this can be digital and hand made.  I have made the 'I Am' part of the font larger and on a separate line.  Some of the reasons for this were in my eyes It makes us look proud of what we are and what we do.  Its also personal and looks bold and confident.  Creative is listed underneath.  I have been careful with the paint splatters as too many could visually scare the lettering and be un-readable.

Planning End of Year Show Prep

After brain storming our own ideas and thoughts, we landed on a name called

'I Am Creative'

Gina originally came up with this idea and we all agreed after considering others that this was best.  I personally feel it works because It makes the Show personal.  Whoever actually says it, It applies to them which is important because I feel this then includes everyone.

Discussing group roles we kind of discussed who would be best at focusing on what aspect:

Gina: Film production/ editing

Me: Film production/ branding

Chloe: Film production/ branding

Communication, themes, Identity

Team roles, Graphics, Photography, Video editing, responsibilities

Video, Brighton, Promotion

Poster, size, colour, logo, image

Our idea was to get random people of the public to answer why they think they are creative.  Holding up a board saying 'I am creative because'.  We thought this idea was pretty original along with people who agreed to be filmed doing so.  We wanted them to not say the I am creative part because thats already written on the board we would want them to hold up.  We thought it would be great to involve different types of people.

End of Year Show Brief

We have been given our latest project and thats to brand our End of year Graduation show.
The outcomes are as follows;

A 30 second Promotion video for the show

An A4 promotion poster

An A3 promotion poster

The turn over for this project is just 2 weeks.  We will be working in teams of 3 or 4 for this also.  As a class we are only scheduled in twice a week, a lot of work & arranging will have to take place outside of uni.  The original idea was to NOT come up with a name for the show unlike other years because of different reasons but we have been told to over rule this.  I grouped up with Chloe and Gina for this one because we all have strengths in different areas that we feel we could excel on as a team.

Things to consider:

Show identity

Creative thinking

Branding
